The translation agency will oblige its employees to observe confidentiality. However, the translation agency is not liable for violation of the confidentiality obligation by these employees if the translation agency can demonstrate that it was unable to prevent this violation.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the translation agency has the right to have an assignment (partly) performed by third parties, without prejudice to the translation agency's responsibility for the confidential treatment and proper execution of the assignment. The translation agency will oblige said third parties to observe confidentiality. Websites or online stores are some of the most common translation assignments. The fastest way to get a quote for your translation is providing your texts in a workable file format. Microsoft Word or Excel, for example. If this isn't possible, we may be able to manually count the words on your website, but this takes up a lot of time.
If the website is small and mostly consists of informational texts, we can extract the texts based on the URL provided and prepare them for translation. We will paste the extracted texts into a Microsoft Word document, which we will include for approval with the quote. We will deliver the translation in Microsoft Word as well.
You can opt to provide the texts in a translation or export file as well. Some of the common file formats include CSV, XLIFF, XML or PO. These are file types we can process and we recommend that you use these file types if your web environment features a lot of product information or many different unique webpages. We will deliver the translation in the same format, allowing you to use an import feature to directly process the translation. This is the most effective way to translate a website.
We also have experience in working within CMSs or software localisation systems, so this is definitely an option for translating your website. Though we may not be familiar with every system out there, there are virtually no limits to what we can accomplish with a detailed brief and close collaboration.

Our project managers receive every quotation in an organised online workspace. The chances of your request slipping through the cracks is very small, but in case you would like some extra assurance about the project status, you can of course always reach out by calling or sending an email.
Whenever we receive a quotation request, one of the first things we do is add the relevant files to our translator workspace. Besides this, we need to determine an indication of the cost by estimating the amount of words in need of a translation. Our most affordable tier is an AI + revision tier. This means that the initial version of the translation is done by AI and then checked for accuracy and other details by an experienced revisor. Plainly said: no. Even though online translation machines are used more and more to ensure a quick and free translation process, sworn translations are still a specialisation within the translation craft that is fully done by humans. AI isn’t at a point where they can translate these types of documents without mistakes, making it a legal liability. Besides this, we advise to never feed an AI model personal information as this can be used to fulfil prompts of other users.
This acronym refers to a Large Language Model. In its developmental phase it was fed lots of textual data, information and examples. Based on this scraped data, AI is able to assist users with simple requests by “predicting” which word is most likely to follow the other based on the given context. Don’t blindly trust AI with everything though, it still is a predictive model after all.
For unofficial and internal business use, doing a simple translation with AI is fine. We’ve personally had good experiences with DeepL. This AI model seems a bit more specialised in text and translations. It also suggests synonyms and makes it possible to subtly change the tone of a text.
Not really, simply because AI doesn't really translate. It mathematically predicts which word is most likely to follow the other. Which can work sometimes but can also have far-reaching consequences if it's used for nuanced texts prone to error. This is why we don’t recommend AI translations without human checks for any texts with data or texts that will be used publicly.
This is a less than ideal but possible translation solution whenever the requested language combination is so rare that we don’t have translators readily available to fulfil the project. With an intermediate translation, a text is first translated to a language that more of our translators speak and from there translated again to the target language. Considering that the labour required to complete the translation is doubled, this solution comes with added costs.
We recommend using a translation memory when professionally translating annual editions of texts. Think of year plans and commemorative reports just to name a few. Using a translation memory ensures consistency in style and tone of voice that's difficult to replicate without a translation memory. It also usually ends up being more affordable since previously translated texts aren’t charged again.

A regular urgent translation usually involves a translation request that either requires same day completion or a translation speed of more than 2500 words per day. Of course, we can do our best to be as quick as possible with a sworn translation, but since the translation is completed in collaboration with external parties like the local court and postal service, we can’t give a guarantee like with a regular urgent translation.

Despite both sharing the Germanic language family, throughout history, German was subjected to less anglicisation than Dutch. This can be seen in German not relying on loanwords as much and having their own language for specific situations as opposed to Dutch which uses lots of English and German loanwords. This might cause instances of “false friends”: words who are spelt (roughly) the same but have a different meaning. For instance, the word slim in English refers to a body type whilst the same word in Dutch means “smart”. To make matters worse, the German word “schlimm” means “bad”. These false friends make translations tricky since mistakes might feel intuitively correct to someone who isn’t a professional translator.
Within country borders there is a widely recognised “standard” French that most people speak. There are regional languages and dialects like Breton (spoken by people who actually originated from southern England) and Occitan, but not to the point that a translation to standardized French isn’t sufficient.
